So out of 17 eggs laid, I still have about 9 that seem totally viable. they have swollen and puffed up ALOT and many of them have clearish "windows"
Does this mean they are close to hatching??
I don't about "windows", but they start to get little indents right before they hatch as they are absorbing the yolk and the shell is getting thinner to enable them to hatch.

no indents yet, still puffed up and firm

The eggs don't always indent so don't worry if they don't. In general when incubated at 83 degrees they hatch around day 60 but they can take much longer and hatch closer to day 70. The windows may be areas where the shells are very thin. I seem to have some eggs like that this year. Are you able to see the hatchlings inside?

No, but I haven't candled them since they were layed. And the incubator is in a cupboard. Should I be able to see little snakes through the windows with the naked eye, or by candling??
they have stayed in between 82-84 the whole way through. May 22 would have been day 50.

If the window is very thin then maybe snakes could be seen without a flashlight but I wouldn't be concerned if you can't. It sounds like your hatchlings are really due around the 1st. I would say that anytime now you might find a pippie!
Some people say when they are close to hatching the eggs smell like green peppers! I know that when I open containers in the latter half of the incubation there is a distinct smell but I wouldn't call it green peppers and I find it happens in the last few weeks.

I can see blood vessels through the windows and what looks like a "solid" part laying along the "bottom half" of the eggs. One egg has dimpled just a bit, the others are all very firm.
I can't wait to see pippies, this matching was done to prove/disprove my males PH of anery.
I have a cold right now, so the sniffer is not working!! LOL

thanks, I'm not the most patient person myself, and what I do have I tend to use for my son!!
no worries tho, I won't cut them, but I check them twice/day now waiting for signs of pipping!!
the mating is male Amel (PH Anery) X female Snow
I'll make a new thread, but I have some hatching out right now and only a few of the eggs dimpled. They all got the "windows" about a week before though.

Snakefood would you ship? Because I am thinking about getting another corn as my second snake in the next year, so if you could I will definitly buy from you if I do end up getting another corn snake.
What about me? I have babies too!

Yea, I know. That's just what I though when I first saw your post, but then I realized y'all are both in Canada.

of course I'll ship one to you, we just have to figure out who does shipping!! we will have to do some research on that.
this clutch is either Amel (het Anery) or Snows.
if my other 2 females lay, then I will also have Okeetee's and Normals (het snow) available later on.
