Yup, I think it's a fishing spider too. You should put it back by a lake or something. They can glide over the water and dive underneath it to catch tadpoles  very cool

I am not moving it at all.. I will pass on touching it or getting that close. He lives in our shed and comes out at night to chill on the side of it. lol thanks for the info guys.

Looks like a Wolf Spider to me, but I'm old and confused a lot of the time :)

Someone else told me that also Todd.. Idk anything about spiders except that they give me the creeps.
If it's a fishing spider, it would probably be by water. I'm going with wolf spider.

The banding on the legs makes me think fishing spider... sometimes they do get indoors... it's not impossible

I think its a wolf spider due to me not living near any water. The streams or lakes on the other side of town. I was talking to the old man down the road and he said he gets a lot of wolf spiders in his garage and he told me a bit about them.

Looks like a Fishing Spider to me as well. I've caught these guys before. Doesn't look quite right for a wolf spider, most wolf spiders have distinct markings on their backs which I don't see in this picture, the markings and size make me think Fishing Spider.
I would, however need to see the placement of the eyes to know for certain.

The markings on the abdomen and banded legs make me believe it's a fishing spider

Looks like a fishing spider to me as well. In Muskoka (cottage area in Ontario) they call them dock spiders. I have seen some 3/4 the size of my hand on the hwy60 bridge over Oxtonge lake. They leave thick venom on a stick if you tease them into stiking it. I have seen them on rocks in the bush more than a mile from a lake or river.

I am so weird. My tarantulas don't freak me out, but finding this in my shed sure would *lol*
