I have had a few reps over the years and right now a corn snake yearling and a just got a brazilian rainbow bow all set up , and it hit me... I have not planned for this situation as it only happens once or twice a year for a short time. But once it last for 3 days during a noreaster storm (before i had snakes ) and it got farily cold indoors . I'm in an apartment so I can't really use a generator , how about something like these hot paks for use in a pinch? I guess regulating tempature with these would be tough but better then nothing . How do you FL people do it during hurricanes if you can't use a generator ?

I keep a propane heater, a power inverter and battery.

I will post pictures of it sometime.

I use a generator........and I have a power inverter....

We have more of a problem in Texas and Florida keeping them cool enough......not hot...well, colubrids anyway.....

I have friends that have lots of those gel cool packs in the freezer for such an occasion.....

My generator will run the fridge/freezer and the A/C unit......No heaters needed here unless it is a rare freeze then I could plug in a space heater....

Those "hot hands" are not the preferred heat pack....
You can buy 72 Hour Plus hotpacks on tsksupply and other shipping sites.....

I have a generator that could run everything I need. I Also a few propane heaters if something fails with the generator for some reason.

There is a law here in NYC that states that any place that holds more than 300 people has to have a big *** generator. So while I was cursing it during installation, it does let me feel safe in case of anything like that happening.
