View Full Version : Learning with new cam, a photo
I just got a Canon Poweshot A40. This is like my second picture. haha the first was bad, but hopefully by the end of today I will have a good grasp on the cam and have some good ones but for now here is a photo of Mikey.
I got Mikey from a guy who had him in a 10-15 gallon tank for 13 years. No UV light or sun of any kind, and this turtle could hardly move in a 15 gallon tank as his shell is about 8 inches long. Poor guy. Anyways, now he lives in a large tub during the winter, and a private Mikey pond in my backyard during the summer. I have had him for one year.

You're off to a great start, Marisa. Great pic and good story!
Congrats on the new cam, I have the same one and I love it! :D
I have wanted it for some time. I do not know much about how they do things or whatever but apparently its discontinued now. So I am happy I got one. I ended up having to go to four places since everyone else has already run out and won't be recieving another shipment. Anyways thanks guys!

nice close up....Glad Mikey has a good home now!
On a turtle forum said it looks like he has a fungus on his shell?? I have no clue what they are talking about because when I took him out of water to check his shell was smooth and hard. Aside from the scutes about to shed, they get really dry in the light but are almost ready to come off. And he hasn't shed any in a long long time. Almost since I got him a year ago....
Here are some more pics....

No fungus. The RES is just old and discoloured. VERY discloured.
How big is it? 7"? It looks like a pretty big male and pretty old. Very old.
Cheers,
JJ ;)
P.S. Careful of what people of forum tell you. Many think they know what they are talking about, but in fact their misleading advice is incorrect. Always check with a reptile vet. ;)
