Hi Guy's,

This is my first post here! ( so be gentle ) lol

I have bought my Jungle jag x, but not getting it untill 3 weeks untill Im back from holidays.

Could you's help me with all the stuff that I need to get now before I collect to bring home?

So heating and lighting? which is best and which wattage to use.
The best way to set it up? Can I use a fogger or rain system?

Theres 2 viv's im looking at 1) Ax 36 or Ax48 from vivexotic? One's 3ft & 4ft.

I have a ball python so I no bout hides water and substrates.

Just the carpet is a new one for me! :)

Any pic's of your setup would also be a great help too.

Thanks

Simon

imo,the VX range of viv's is better for carpets,as they give you roughly 2ft in hieght

i use 4x2x2ft VX range viv's for all my carpet pythons, the AX range are roughly a foot and a half high, imo thats a little low for a carpet, they are semi arboreal and love to climb

you will NOT need a fogger etc, carpets have NO specific humidity requirements

all my carpets do great at uk room humidity

you will be ok in Ireland as well mate

i use NON light emitting ceramic bulbs, bulb guards and a thermostat,to heat my tanks

if your house is warm in general a 100 watt ceramic will do,if your house gets chilly in the winter, then i'd use a 150 watt bulb

i'm sure you'll love keeping carpets,as they are great snakes and a very hardy species

heres a picture of some of my set ups mate

Love the stacking of the viv's mate!! :) That's something that I'm going to aim for, I use the vx 4x2x2ft range for my Royal, Yeah I'm really excited bout getting him home in the next few weeks!

So just need to get a ceramic bulb+guard for use of heating and that's generally it up and running?

Cheers for sharing your pic's bud!

Shaun, are the leaves in your enclosures real or fake? I tried using plastic leaves once but a weird odor started after a day or two from the plastic heating up so I removed them immediately.

the plants in the smaller tanks are plastic

the plants in the larger tanks are made of plastic stems with silk leaves

i preffer the silk leaves as they look more natural mate

You'll want some height to the enclosure. No fogger necessary. There are many ways to heat, but a good thermostat is important. The wattage depends on your setup and ambient room conditions and you may have to experiment a bit. BTW, Shaun, I had no idea you had such an awesome snake wall. Wicked.

Oh and I almost forgot, Congrats on your first Morelia. They are awesome. Do you have a pic on hand (I know you don't have the snake yet, but I assume you've seen it in a picture or in person) ?

Here's an enclosure that's arboreal for a carpet if you want to go that route...

Shaun's got you well covered on the info and congrats on your new snake... your going to love it.

(I'm just showing pics really lol)

i use EXO TERRA non light emitting ceramic bulbs, like the one in the link below

i use 100 watt bulbs, but my room stays warm throught the year.if your house gets cold it might be best using a 150 watt bulb mate
