Hi folks,
I am the recent proud papa to a Desert King and an Albino Cal King..and consequently new to the forum... I have read through some of the postings here and I regularly see snakes refered to with a numeric notation before the species..eg. 1.0, 0.0.1, 1.2
Would somebody be so kind to explain what this notation is about or send me link where I can enlighten myself. Incidently my wife and I are thoroughly enjoying our new "kids"
Your assistance is greatly appreciated...
Best regards
Jim

Here's my other baby
Hi Jim!
Congrats on the new arrivals! I hope they bring you many years of enjoyment! :)
The first number denotes males. The second number denotes females. Third number means unknown sex.
Example: 1.0.1
This means 1 male and 1 of undetermined sex.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!

Even though you have the answer to the question, i just wanted to say those are really nice snakes. Don't think I have seen another photo of a desert king on this forum and it is nice to get the diversity of king species shown. Know you will enjoy them,

Thanks folks appreciate it..."Ruby", the Albino is starting her first shed, (with me) and is having a little problem with it. But I did the find answer here on the forum and everything is in check.. Normally she is a little skittish but when I put her into a moist warm blanket and sat her on my lap last night, she changed her mood right away, gentle as a kitten. I guess she is getting her "pet protocols" in order...:)
Thanks again... I'll post more pics once I can stop long enough from enjoying their company
Cheers
Jim
