My red eyed croc skink is a heavy, heavy sleeper. I see her in her water dish, i've seen her chase worms and crickets, but when she as asleep, NOTHING wakes her up. Even picking her up! i pick her up, handle her...wiggle her, pet her....then she MIGHT crack an eye lid, sleepily. She may open them all the way and seems surprised...sometimes startled as to where she is. It's riduclous. Sometimes i have to wake her for cleaning, and she won't wake up until i've picked her up and placed her somewhere else *lol*

She's in a new drawer enclosure now. She's decided she likes to burrow into the moss and sleep.

Love her though : )

Sleeping "Dragon" (her name ; )

I wish more people had these, so I could get more advice on her care. She seems to be thriving though, so that's good. I do know they do better in pairs, but I'm not even sure of her sex. I am fairly somewhat certain she's a she...lol
anyway...she's a doll, either way!

Awe, simply adorable!

I remember when I was starting to consider getting a reptile that I looked into these for quite some time. But it was difficult to find one in my province so I backed down. :( Hopefully in the future I will be able to happily have one of my own! :D

I think she was like 70 bucks. I'd never seen one before. We went into the shop and i was like, OMG!!! So we looked it up on our phones, didn't find much info...so we had the shop girl look on her computer. Got the gist of the care, and decided to go for it. She's been doing great.

Someone else had another thread of her on here....

Not too bad price wise, but I'm sure they are a little bit more expensive here but hopefully not by much. Soon I swear! And thanks for the information :D

Oh, and how is she with handling? Is she one to enjoy being handled?

She's actually very docile. She is surprisingly fast, though, so i never hold her up too high, because she will dart and has almost come out of my hand before. Most of the time she just sits there, looking around (which is very noticeable with that yellow around the eyeball) and will flick out her dark tongue.
She HAS however....made a sound when startled once...and once when not wanting to be picked up. They expel air when distressed, and it sounds like a duck quack!!! lol

I felt awful but it was SUPER CUTE! *lol*
The first time she had darted out of my hand, onto the floor (about two inches of a "drop" more of a jump) and that's how i learned she'd do that....and i went to pick her out from under a table and she quacked, the second time was recently when i changed her enclosure completely. She'd burrowed under some moss, and i moved it out of the way to get to her and she didn't like that *lol* no biting, pooping or anything.
They were all this nice at the store, and i've never heard bad stories about them.

I cold talk about her all day, even though i don't take her out much. I see her hunt for crickets or worms, and watch her in her water dish.

I put her in the above post, before i had actual pics of her sleeping : )
