Sorry i havent posted at all in the last month or so, I just finished up college!
She's starting to warm up to me, doesnt nip at all when I replace her water or anything like that, nor does she try to escape as soon as im holding her.. haha..
Also, she's starting to feed more regularly, which is good. :smug:

She sure is looking good, nice and bright like her mom and dad. Glad to hear she's doing well for you and has made the transition to new enclosure and caretaker.

She's gorgeous!
Actually shes a high orange, i can already tell how much more orange shes getting compared to when i first got her. i wish i could catch her iridescence in pictures. Shes finally warmed up to me holding her more now that shes feeding regularly. Shes cute though, any time i walk into the room shes in she pokes her head out of her hide to see whats going on then hides as soon as i walk past

I saw pics of them and if shes even half that gorgeous im going to be a happy man! :P
Sad update.. Doris passed away about a week ago. I left for one day and she tipped her (rather untippable, I believe she burrowed under it and flipped it) water dish, which SOAKED her substrate. I came back and she had a small case of scale rot. I worked w/ my breeder and got all the proper care, treatment, put her on paper towels, etc. etc. but she passed within a few days. Its unfortunate but, even before this, If i was going to be gone for more than 24 hours I had my brother check up on my snakes. Sigh. I dont know how it happened so quick, I change all my bedding every 2 weeks and keep it spot cleaned daily, and even move it around so it doesn't sit in the same spot for more than a day.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Skumbo. :-( She was a gorgeous animal, and I'm sure leaves you with many equally gorgeous memories. RIP Doris!

That's crazy and heartbreaking! Really sorry for your loss Skumbo, I never realized scale rot could kill so quickly, especially a snake that is supposed to be pretty resistant to scale rot in the first place. Man that sucks.

So sorry to hear this, I'm very sorry we could not get her past her troubles, she was a stunning BRB.
I'm wondering if there was something wrong with her I didnt know about, to be honest, as gorgeous as she was, she never took to feeding (very very stubborn, probably ate 8 times in the 5-6 months I had her)
That said, Dave was great and got back to me as soon as I emailed him about her issue. Its really too bad, I wanted to breed her eventually :(
The good news is, she didnt suffer long, as she died within a few days of developing scale rot, which is preferable to her being in pain for weeks.
I'm truly sorry for your loss :( RIP Doris. She was gorgeous

No, I'm just going to stick with Genghis, if she was my only snake I would, but im content with him for now. I plan on eventually getting a blood python, so Im just going to stick with one until that day comes, as I'd rather not have three snakes. Im a very busy person, and travel a decent amount, so I need to be responsible when it comes to how many animals I have.

Again, sorry for your loss...but huge points for knowing your limits and thinking of the animals first.

Yeah.. I just went to an expo too. So tempting! The worst was seeing the BRB's and realizing just how bright Doris was.
