I don't know what to do right now. I cant find Amusei and I can hardly function. Any tips on how I could perhaps lure him out or find somewhere he could be hiding. I have never loved an animal as much as I love him him and don't know what I will do without him. He brought me out of my depression and now I will be falling right back into it hard.

Use some of his favorite food maybe...

check radiators, and baseboard heaters, also if you have a big floor model tv, check under that, behind the computer, if you breed rats look near them, ( its where i found my snakes when they escaped). check in piles of clothes as well

Check all the tight dark areas you can find. It might help to get on the floor and look under furniture and appliances too. Use his favorite food to lure him out.

How did he escape? You'll have to figure that out so that it won't happen again.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Look UP! I have a monitor named Houdini for that reason (currently on breeding loan with my brother) who is always at the highest spot he can reach if he escapes. He likes to sit above the curtains.

Please tell me it's still inside the house....

Lock down all windows, doors. heat registers and crawl spaces, if he gets outside, you will never see him again..

Several years ago my first Savannah "Chomper" busted out of his cage. We found him hiding in a pile of laundry.

we don't know if he is. The cat has this irritating tendency to open the back door and go outside. She did that last night and we don't know how long the door was open. It seems like nobody in this damn house is capable of listening to me. I tell them to keep the dining room door shut and the back door locked. I tell mom to check on him at least once a day while I'm at school and she cant even do that. That lizard matters more to me then every damn person in this fricken house and if I don't find him alive and well I will go psycho.

A friend of mine's daughter lost their boa. They called the breeder and he said turn off the heat, open the windows and put a heater in the middle of the room. Took an hour and she was at the heater
It's not a method you would want to try long term. He will turn up, but be patient, he can feel the vibes. Isn't going to make him want to come out. Lure with food as well

My black throat, Ares, got out about 6 weeks ago, hadn't seen him for at least 24 hours, I found him wedged up behind my radiator. you will be surprised at how small a place they can fit in.

i'll try that. The sunroom gets cold quick.

Do not forget to check the least obvious places. Contrary to popular belief, reptiles do not automatically seek out the warmest spot in the house to hide. They actually seek out cool, dark places where they can duck out for a few days and rest.

Do NOT open windows with a monitor loose.... it will run right out them!

Are you sure it isn't in it's enclosure? Under the soil, in a burrow maybe?

x2.

I freaked out the other day when I couldn't find my one Nile monitor; it turned out that it had burrowed down to the bottom of the enclosure and was sleeping in the space under their rock.

This I agree as well, sometimes littlefoot will not show his face for 2 days straight.

I know im late here but Try Not To Panic and just look under and behind everything cause if it was cold or raining and etc I doubt he ran outside or if he did he might have turned around and is hanging out in the house somewhere this happen to me before when my little brother left the doors to my tegus cage open and I just put a heater in the middle of the living room and shut everything off and put a F/T mouse and ground turkey next to the heater and long and behold he came running from the back of the house to eat

i dug through all of his bedding and didn't find him. I'll do so again. The places to look for him are too numerous to count.
