Hey everyone' angelic a the now has a large exo terra cave that since she moved into her new tank [she has been switched from a mat to infra red bulb] has stayed on the cave almost non stop, I don't have a problem with this if that's what makes her happy but I wanted her to get used to the. Ew bigger tank as she's getting to be a big girl, like I wanted her to get a feel for where the warmth and the cool spots were I. The tank,so I took the cave away and immediately she's exploring, I ha e decided that too much hiding space can. E bad like a teenager that never leaves the bedroom, anyone else agree x

My brazilian loves her cave (she has the same 1). Very rarely see her exploring as she's a shy snake... My opinion is if they're hiding away, it's because they like to feel hidden... If you take that away then they're not as happy as they could be...
Was she always in it? Of I top of it? As if she's ontop, it's the warmth she's after rather than security. :D
Nice boa tho :D

In it as like never ever comIng out like ever and because the it's quite thick it really block heat out and when I picked her up she was ice cold, there's a log for her to get in on the hot side, she's never. Been and out snake but this was worrying as she never came out, right now she's sat on the log under the light, looks like she's chillin out sun bathing

To be honest I'd put it back in anyway... As long as there's hides at both ends then she will choose what temps she needs.. I never really see my brb out, always in her hide (same as your hide).. But that doesn't mean she isnt coming out when it's been dark and quiet for a while. Removing hides if you never see the snake is for our benefit, not theirs. Just my opinion. :D

Ok then mate, what I think I'll do is leave it out for a few days for her to get used to the new heat source and learn where the cool and hot spots and then put it back in' al let you know when I do and how it goes' thanks dude

Three out of seven of my snakes i would never see if i didnt feed them, they hide 100% of the time that i am present in the room. As long as you know they have access to the right temperature gradient and multiple hides they will do the rest :)
