Nice pickup! Retics are very awesome, they're my favorite python outside the Morelia world.

She is nice looking..

Question- I know most breeders of most snakes tend to keep the snake for 4-5 feeds to make sure it can eat and will eat. How many times did she eat prior to you getting her?

Thanks For All The Great Comments Guys! She's doing just great she was snooping around her cage since i put her in and since she's so little even though the pics make her look big she's in and out of every little thing and I know she does it cause she knows she can fit lol but she's I'm shed and so as my tough guy Kink so after they both come out of shed I'll post pics and offer them some "Spaggheti" LOL that's A term I leaned from Alessia & Jaleely and I don't have a name yet...I name my pets based on they're physical appearance and personality and Im letting her settle in so as I look at her while she's in her Home and start handling her I should have a name in no time

I was wondering if she was in shed... she's looking dull. Otherwise she looks good. I look forward to post-shed pictures. Wait at least a week before handling her again, or if she hasn't shed in that time, wait till after that. Don't be surprised if you get a crappy shed either. The stress from moving is immense. Make sure you keep that humidity cranked, 80% or higher.

Who did you get her from? How was the process?

Great thanks for the tip @Millertime and yes she's in shed right now so when she comes ou of shed I'll be sure to post pics and I had to clean her enclosure today so I had no choice but to handle her a bit and she was great! Jumpy and very cautious but great and to answer Hellosugaree...I got her from Brian Sheldon he hatched out albinos and Hets and still had about 3 left if I'm not mistaken and the ad is on Kingsnake.com under the name BSS and he was great with me throughout the whole process and she arrived before 10:10 as promised and nice and warm and a absolute beauty as promised I had no complaints...He has the parents and purchased them from the previous owner named Brad Benicke of Grossboy Exotics who had acquired them from Garrick DeMeyer which was the first person who bred the parents and the parents produced albinos and Hets in all 3 breedings they've done. I'm just happy to own a SuperDwarf since not so many people have them and not too many people know about them the way people know of burms and Normal Retics

Sweet! I'm curious if the place you got her from told you how many time she's fed, too.

Nice...but I like Kink more! hehe

I'll be honest, I wouldn't be calling her a superdwarf with as big as her parents were. There was an interesting discussion on the topic on fb yesterday.

I agree Millertime there are a few reasons why I wouldn't really be calling her a superdwarf due to the sizes of the parents and the size of the baby I have compared to other hatchling SuperDwarfs I've saw but I did some research and spoke with other people who have heard of the precious breeders and they said he does have some of the smallest around that we're hold backs from the parents I got mine from so I'm still a bit in the air about it but I still like her : )

@Millertime....Hey Bud...i think me doing some re-search turned out to be a good thing..i think i found the mother to my baby...Garrick Demeyer of RoyalConstrictordesigns.com was the previous original owner of the pair before the breeder i got mine from and i think this is a video with him showing babies the mother i got mine from hatched out along with explaining her background....take a look... @Millertime Just Wanted to Share The Vid With ya And yup you were right she was a bit big for her age...She had dwarf and SD parents which makes her SD/Dwarf right? How Will this work out?

KSTAR
05-03-12, 02:37 PM
Travis Always Has Some Nice stuff I've Saw Plenty of his Stuff & I also know he has Pure SDs right? Is that where you got yours from? How big is yours now Millertime?

millertime89
05-03-12, 07:31 PM
just 50% dwarf, 50% SD, expect about the same size as her parents, 9 or 10 feet most likely. My girl is approaching a year old and roughly 3 feet, maybe a bit less. She's in shed right now so I'm not gonna disturb her. He does have pure SD stuff, I'm getting another one from him in a few weeks.

KSTAR, I'd hate to call you out on this... but I couldn't help noticing that your avatar shows your retic and your ball python together. These should both be in quarantine in separate areas, and should not be allowed to come in contact with each other just yet. Since you're introducing new snakes that came from different places, you have to wait and make sure you don't see any signs of illness (that can show up weeks after arrival), before you put them in the same room with previous snakes. I don't even use the same tools (tongs, etc) to share between snakes if they're in quarantine. Just wanted to let you know so that you can make sure Kink and the retic stay healthy...... So they should be in different areas of your home, and not interact. People vary as to how long they recommend you quarantine, but it can be anywhere between 3-6mos. :)

Too true, Alessia. Keep an eye on both of them Kstar and listen for any popping sounds, mucus in the nostrils, or open mouths, etc. I don't want those cuties being sick and passing it around! I hope they both stay healthy. : )

That's great. They should be in separate boxes in separate rooms of the house, IMO.
