Age unknown but he's about 6 1/2 feet. He's not a young snake - I know I'm his 4th owner at least.

Great looking carpet, great to see an older one. It seems like people stop showing pics once they get over 3 years old.

Ha! I'm not like most people, lol. I'm in it for the long-haul and the only interest I have in young snakes is to see them reach their full potential and live long and happy lives. After all, that's how they spend the vast majority of their life; as mature snakes :)

I so agree. My snakes were most purchased at the 3 yr mark which is when people seem to think they beed to get rid of them. At 3 they have personality and a bit of size. I too am in it for the long haul and can appreciate them as they mature.

Well, it turns out that this was Whiskers' last photo session. The poor old boy lost his struggle over night and succumb to what appeared to be old age. He'll be sorely missed and I take consolation in the fact that I was able to make him seemingly very happy in his last few years.
There's no replacing him, so I'll focus my Carpet python efforts on Sol until another comes along that needs a good place to call home for the rest of it's days, just like Whiskers did

Thanks, KKgal.
While it's sad news, I have tons of great memories with him, he had a good life and died a natural death, so I plan to celebrate the time I did have with him and not dwell on his passing. Raise a glass to 'm next time cocktail hour rolls around and know he's smiling at you from somewhere when you do it

Todd so sorry to hear about Whiskers. May he live on in your heart.
Todd, I'm sorry for your loss. He was a gorgeous guy and despite his passing, it must be so comforting to know that he was able to end his life with dignity, in a home where he was well cared for. RIP Whiskers.

Oh Whiskers... : ( What a beautiful old boy. I'm glad he got such a confortable home to live his last years in. Aww, I'm actually doing a very sad pouty face right now, because i read the first posts and was all happy to see him, but then it had a sad ending!
But, he was content in the end, i'm sure. Have a glass for me and dedicate it to him!
