I'm looking to increase humidity in my cage. I saw a Vicks Brand Warm Mist humidifier with humidity control and automatic shut off switch. They also had a cool mist. Would this be okay to use? If so, which would be better?

I have used the Vick's warm mist and have a cool mist that I currently use.

When I used the warm mist humidifier, a lot of things in the room were affected. Any posters on the wall became shriveled. Any paper products were also adversely affected. I don't know if this was because of ultra high humidity or because of the warm mist.

The cool mist humidifiers I have used have never caused this kind of damage unless the mist was falling directly onto something that would absorb the water. The cool mist raised the humidity in the room adequately.

I have also purchased a fan type humidifier. The fan sucks air through a filter that is sitting in water that is in the bottom of the unit. It humidifies well enough but the fan is noisy. It was cheap though.

I recommend the cool mist humidifier.

Are you planning on putting it right in the cage or just in the same room?

Just get a hagen ultrasonic fogger. They work really well and can bring humidity up to 100% and don't ruin anything. Thanks
