Absolutely beautiful as always shaun :) Love love love your carpets :)

thanks Rob,those 3 are my pride and joy

the female may be up to size next breeding season, she's small but still a 2008

if the gosford males sexually mature (should be ) then, fingers crossed i'll produce some diamonds mate:)

her as a hatchling (roughly 6 months old)

Any "white" diamonds on your side of the pond mate?

there are black and white diamonds over here and in europe,Rolph Milkeson in europe got a clutch this season, from his big white female.i will try find out the outcome of the eggs mate

whites are a lot harder to come by,a lot of folk preffer them to the yellow

i like black and whites, but i think the high yellow diamonds stand out more

that said, there was a black and white diamond, posted in a " show me your diamonds " thread, over on the aussie forum

it was one of the BEST diamonds i've ever seen...!!

there was a NEON yellow ozzy diamond on a morelia forum, that was " THE BEST " diamond i have ever seen

if only you could export,a few locale specific diamonds over to me mate :)

cheers shaun

thanks for your kind comments mate

which male ?

the gosford male or the non locale specific ?

a lot of people over here like the gosford, due to his unusual pattern.

i wish i could afford a gosford female, thats if Olli at Precision Reptiles in Germany has any hatchlings left

i would love the chance to produce " locale specific " GOSFORD diamonds over here mate

cheers shaun

Yeah... I know of both animals, they are absolutely cracking specimens. It would be good if more of the white diamonds become available over there. White diamonds = white Diamond Jags :)

many thanks to everyone for their kind comments

these 3 diamonds are the pride and joy of my collection

ever since i saw my first picture of a diamond python,i've thought they were the best looking snake out there

also their husbandry is very interesting.....

especially where they handle temperatures of 55F,for their 4 month cooling cycle

during cooling they get a basking spot and uvb,for 2 to 4 hours per day and thats it,imo a truely amazing snake:D

they are definatly the most economic snake to keep ;)

when NOT in cooling cycle, they get a basking spot 4 hours per day, with uvb from 4 to 8 hours according to the season

they only get fed 6 months of the year

imo,no other carpet would be capable of handling these conditions, let alone THRIVE like the diamond python...!!

cheers shaun

Gorgeous diamonds Shaun, always love your pics. What are you keeping them in at that age and what do you keep your adults in? I've heard adults need some huge enclosures in comparison to other morelia.

How long is he?

at a guess around the 2ft mark

diamonds grow really slow mate

i only feed mine 6 months of the year

1 month no feeding,to clear the gut.....

4 months of cooling,without food.....

1 month without food,to heat back up,after cooling.....

equals feeding only 6 months of the year

first rule i learned about diamonds is.....

a fat diamonds a dead diamond

you honestly would not believe how small my female diamond is,for a 2008 carpet

my 2010 irians are not much smaller than her and i expect them to surpass her this year

For sure, the next sunny warm day we get here ill snap a few off. I really hope mine turn out like yours, if they do i can see myself breeding them and just keeping all the females and a few males, and just breed lots of them for canada. they are seriously the sexiest snakes i have seen. just like pure gold on a black background. i have looked at these pic over and over yesterday, each time feeling like the first time i ever seen one. Diamonds sure are sweet snakes. to think i never seen one before i joined this forum, and now im crazy about them.

i agree completely mate

diamonds are amazing snakes to look at and keep

i would love a gold and black diamond

the high yellow are the easiest to come by over here

true gold ones and white ones are harder to find

i know of one true gold and black diamond over here,it was produced in germany,by Olli at Precision Reptiles,Olli produced both my males from different pairings

my female was produced here in the uk

i really need to try and get finances for a GOSFORD locale female

i look forward to updates of yours pal
