After nearly 2 decades of being a diehard snake guy, I suddenly found myself enamored with tortoises. Last year, I adopted a baby sulcata from our local rescue, and months later, a baby redfoot from a fellow herper.

I think I like them more than my snakes now!

What info would you be interested in? I still consider myself a newbie tortoise keeper, but I have learned a lot in the past year. I'd be more than happy to share, but heavens, where do I start?!

Ask and you shall receive. This is photo of Kobe's indoor enclosure and outdoor enclosure.

The outdoor is still a work in progress. I've planted a few plants since for additional shade, but its where he spends most of his days now. No more expensive UVB lighting!

LOL...I'll try. I don't get many opportunities to see them eat, as I usually am offering them food right before I head out the door every morning for work. They finish their plates long before I come home. The redfoot is a little more predictable and will come as soon as I put breakfast out in front of him. The sulcata is a little more shy for human contact and likes to take his sweet time scooting over to the food dish. According to my wife's observations, he eats somewhere between 7:30am and lunchtime.
