So I just found out that my retic hates water being sprayed on him. He strikes at the water when it's being sprayed on him, does anyone else's retic do that?

about half the time, yeah. My BP hisses at me when I do it to him and my BRB just runs away. My burm constantly spills her water which keeps the humidity up in her enclosure and I haven't had a need to do it with my corn, I'm curious to see what they would be like.

My SD strikes at the water spray too, one day he was striking all over the place and actually bit his own body, then looked at me as if it was my fault - he also strikes at his own heat bulb (it is caged so he cant actually hit the bulb) when there are prey items around :)

I don't have a retic (yet :p ) but the only one who does more than flinch when I mist is my rainbow. She launches herself like a coiled spring exploding towards the offending water lol. One time she sprang at it so viciously she came out of her tote. Fun time trying to get a hold on her without her biting me to get her back in. Now I never directly mist her but will give her tub a good spray while she's in her hide. Sometimes she peaks out to see what's going on and I politely wait until she sticks her head back in. She's a firecracker at times....so cute for such a wee snake lol
Rob, that's funny. He must be mistaking the heat from the light for food lol

My older BP hates it when I mist his cage. My younger one (Pika) loves it. He comes out and slurps up the drops on the walls :wacky:

Both my BPs hate it but just try to get away. My corn snake likes it for some reason she won't move (she reacts to anything else)
My pastel will bury his head in his water bowl to get away from the misting, he's no the brightest

Not a snake, but my scorpion seems to not like the misting either. As soon as the water hits him/her, both pincers and stinger are pointed upward just waiting to maul the droplets lol

My jcp goes into feed mode type behavior if I mist her. She doesn't strike or hiss but cruises her tank like an out of contol missle searching for the offending sprayer.

That's how they usually drink from what I've read. Kinda cool if you ask me.

I thought so to, since reading that ive adjusted his sprayers so that they point at his favorite perch spots

My GTP is special. I see him drinking from his bowl all the time and whenever I mist him he ignores me and hides his head under his coils. I have never seen him drink off his coils just the bowl or the side of his viv. My Royals don't care for the misting but they don't hide from it either. My boa runs from it and my corn rattles his tail.

One of my young adult males, Galahad, does the same. He'll turn on you in a heartbeat and take a strike, then sit there all puffed up and ready to rumble.
Which is funny, because he's a rainbow boas -- they *love* water.
I wonder how pissed he'd be at natural rain?
