The first photo is of my het for Candy Cane L.knoblochi breeding. and the next two are locale animals from Copper Canyon/Canon de Cobre collected by Buzz Ross.

Thanks! I have some more gravid females already just didn't have the camera handy to take some pictures......I will be taking some pics of the gravid females once they go through their pre-lay shed.

Per the rather new "paper" what are the Pyros from the Huachuca Mountains called now?
They were once L. p. woodini.

Yea well not any more, according to the "New Paper" everything south of the Mogollon Rim is now considered L.knoblochi. Even the L.p.pyromelana. There is no distinction based on actual appearance anymore. I like the fact that they separated knoblochi from L.p.pyromelana. As I believe that was a good call but I don't think using the Mogollon Rim as the cut off point was used correctly. Their whole basis from what I gathered was they figured the rim was an evolutionary cut off point.

SWCHR wrote a paper on whether they were going to accept the new taxonomy, I just can't find the link. But here is one explanation from them.

So knobs found in Southern Arizona are now pyros and pyros found south of the rim are now knobs....and knobs have reached species status, woodini is completely eliminated but infrabialis are still subs of pyro?........ have they lost their mind......lol

Yes, they have. The other thing is, they only had 45 samples and most were from AZ not even Mexico. I think it's crazy.......Woodini, Infralabialis, and Pyromelana will always stick with me. Pyromelana looking animals from AZ and Mexico will still be L.p.pyromelana not L.knoblochi.....
