The kindness of nice people is so awesome. These were made available for use on my site just this evening. Enjoy.
Thanks to Roy Stockwell for providing these stunning pictures.

Not sure if you remember, but some gravid females showed up from Africa last year, these were eggs dropped by a W/C female after she reached this continent.

didn't remember, but I'm familiar with how the Sav trade works, so its really nothing different? Just you finally have pictures?

Yes, typically they are hatched in Africa, so it's rare to see these pictures at this stage of development.
I think (don't quote me) that since the customs agency cannot determine a species by looking at an egg, it is highly frowned upon to import eggs that have not hatched yet.

Ah, I gotcha, that makes sense now. Well that's fantastic then to see these pictures then. I for one would love to see these awesome creatures become a regularly CBB animal and not a farmed one.

I have my fingers crossed that one day Littlefoot and Cera produce.
Click the breeding link on my site, there is a fab article there about some CBB animals.
It's in the top menu under site index.
I'm pretty sure eggs aren't imported, they are imported within gravid females by accident.

That is really a nice site to see. Hopefully those types of pics will be less rare in the future.

Exactly.
I don't think the customs inspectors are trained to know what is inside the eggs, therefore to prevent importation of restricted / illegal species, eggs are not going to be an easy import for any animals.

I've seen gravid females turn up for sale on forums. Unfortunately, most die due to egg retention.

This may sound awful, but try to look at what I say next objectively..
I wonder how many of those cases are in the hands of someone with the brains to open up the mother's belly and recover the eggs?
If the whole thing gets tossed into the trash, then mom has lost her life, and all of the offspring have too.
One of the coolest posts I have ever seen on any forum was from a guy who found a snake that had just been run over by a car, the car crushed the snakes head and roughly the top 1/3 of her body.
The snake was taken inside, and the guy slit it open with an exacto knife, recovered 5 viable young. It was a garter snake (they are live bearing) he managed to save some of those babies from certain death, because once the mother dies, time runs out quickly for the babies.

Probably very few. That's actually a really cool story (it's a shame it had to come to that, though).

I can't remember exactly who, but that was posted in the Garter snake forum back in '08.
