I have a juvenile Black Rat Snake that is about to shed for its first time (in my care) and it's eyes have been cloudy for at least 4-5 days so far. I've read that their eyes clear up a few days before they shed? (Unsure if people mean their eyes clear up after they have shed.) Anyway, any helpful information would be appreciated, including helpful things to have in the cage to rub the skin off on (especially stuff I can just go outside and find). There are some branches and a few handfuls of rocks that are pretty rough which I added specifically for the molt.

Snakes' eyes do clear up before they shed (normally a few days - week prior). When you see the eyes go "blue", up the humidity just a bit. Also, don't handle him from this time through 24 hours after the shed.
You'd be surprised what the can use to start a shed. A rough water dish, bark from a branch or a hide, a rock, really just something solid with a bit of texture to it..
Note: When selecting ANY natural material from outside it is IMPERATIVE to rid it of all crawlies and bacteria, usually through bleaching and/or baking. Im sure you van find tons of info on that here (Enclosure/Vivarium forums)
Thanks for reading!
