Hi everyone!
I'm Kandis, and just recently adopted my second BP this last weekend. I don't have any pictures of him currently as I lost my cellular device ><

He is approximately two years old and is eating two mice a week. He's a wonderful feeder :) I'm new to the reptile world so I'm hoping that by reading this website and being able to ask questions I will make his life so much better :D

Welcome, i would advise switching him to rats asap, gonna take a lot of mouse to fill up an adult bp :)

As much as I would love to feed him rats, he's only eating live right now >_> And I live in Alberta, Canada where owning live rats is actually illegal :(

I'm looking into breeding mice to keep up with him, since I live in the country and it's kinda a hassle going into town every few days to keep up with him. His previous owners were only feeding him an adult once a week :o

I got him on monday, and he's already taken down three. LOL

I've tried switching, but he's so old he won't go for it. I even do a little mouse dance >_> And it's not happening. We have a cornsnake in the house that eats f/t though. I wish my boy would, I hate having to watch the mice die. Ahaha. But he has to eat o.o

Did you try braining it? (Or whatever it's called)

The whole issue with that is that no one in my family would be willing to do that for me. Ahaha.

You have only just got him, how long did you try switching him to f/t for?

Adult royals only really need to eat a decent sized meal every 14 days and it may take a couple of months for him to decide to eat a f/t prey item.

I'll keep trying then, but in all honesty, I'm kinda looking forward to breeding mice. Plus, I'd have to drive 45 minutes into town everytime to get a rat, since the pet store near my house only sells mice.

Just be prepared to feed LOTS of mice to your adult snake!

I have a feed tub. If you can get him to do it, after a while it will be almost automatic
My baby pastel took until the 2nd time to get him, and now he hits it hard
