Health concerns

I've been doing research on BRB health, but all I can find is pretty much about RIs.

I think Zeus is healthy, and I'm going to go get him checked by a vet probably within a week, but I'd like to know the kinds of things that should concern me. I want to catch any health problem right away, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

So besides signs of an RI and not eating, what other things could indicate a health problem?

Also is there a book or something that has detailed information about BRBs?

I agree with Shaun. Unneeded stress.

You are taking an animal that needs fairly strict husbandry out of its normal habitat for a minimum of 2 and more likely 3 hours, unless it is absolutely necessary you may be causing more problems than you solve :)

I agree that the trip is probably unnecessary unless you have an issue. Were it ten minutes that would be different.

As for transportation, make sure you take a temp gun with you if you ever do take him in. As Brazilians are very sensitive to temps, and as anything over 85 is too warm, it's always best to be safe.

Other possible signs of a potential problem include shedding issues and failure to pass urates or poop.

I know he pees. I found one potential poop but I'm not sure that it was poop :( He ate 2 in my care already, but I'm not sure if I'm feeding him enough. I was told 1 pinky is good, but I think he could take more. But I don't wanna feed more until I know for sure he poops.

pinky mouse or rat? mouse is gonna be too small, rat is probably gonna be all right.
Don't always listen to me on health issues, I'm a bit of a worry wort when it comes to my pets. But I do agree that you shouldn't make the trip unless Zeus is showing signs of being sick.

if theres nothing visabley wrong and your snake appears to be 100% healthy,then i would not take it on an hour long trip to the vet

i'm not being cheeky,but you need to try and relax and not worry about things that might happen

chill out and enjoy keeping your snakes pal:D

please DON'T wait until he poops before feeding again,some snakes can go months without pooping

young snakes do not poop a lot,as they use most of the prey item in their growth

when moving up a food size i.....

i feed 2 of their current food size for 4 feeds,if they take both items every feed,then i up them to the next prey size

I don't wait, I just didn't want to feed too much because they scared me at the pet store that I need to make sure he's pooping before I give him more food so he doesn't get blocked up.

I would get him on rat pinks, make the switch sooner rather than later. I'm willing to bet he can take them now without issue. But I do agree with Shaun about doubling up current meal size before making the jump to the next size with the little ones.

So is going to fuzzies a bad idea? I'm pretty sure he started on fuzzies, but they were feeding him live which I did not want to do, but they didn't have any frozen at the time so the 2 times I fed him were pinkies. I was thinking that since I still have one pinkie left, I'd give him that plus a fuzzie, then see if he can take 2 fuzzies a couple feedings and then I could try rat pinks?

it wouldn't be bad, I just like having all of my snakes on rats. He'll eventually get big enough he'll need small rats, possibly mediums, and there are no mice big enough at that point. Rat pinks are about the same size and are, well, rats. Since you've got a pinkie left go ahead and give him that, no point in wasting it, you can add in a fuzzie or a rat pink too if you like. I don't think I would do 2 fuzzies just yet.
