So, do these really exist in the form that the name implies? I've heard conflicting reports--some say they stay manageable 6-8 feet and other suggest they get 12+ feet. Does anyone have any experience? Maybe some pictures of your adult super dwarf retic and associated stats (weight, length, age, etc)? Is my dream of keeping a retic that won't turn into a 50lb++++ monster just a dream, or is there reality to it?
Any breeder info would also be great, especially if you have had personal experiences with them you would like to share.

Yes, they really exsist. A true super dwarf does get around 6-8 feet, the problem is that most of them are not true super dwarfs.

How does one go about finding a true super dwarf?

I got a Super Dwarf Retic from Prehistoric Pets. It eats like a pig and has stayed small. It is around 4' now and is about 1 year old. My normal retic which ate less, reached 10' in the first year and was much thicker.

My SD is around 6.5ft, not got an exact age but thought to be around two-three yrs old.

Are there prehistoric pets all over or just in Cali? I was out there a while back (fountain hills) LA area that was the only prehistoric pets I've ever seen...

I love retics! I wish all the big snakes where smaller because my parents are barely letting me get a corn snake. (They think that the corn snake is almost 2 big) but that will probably change once I get the corn snake and they realize that it isn't really that big.

50% SD retics (normal x SD) normally don't top 10 feet, my 75% SD female (50% SD x 100% SD) shouldn't break 8 feet. Anyone who claims their not real doesn't know what they're talking about and have never experienced them. There are a few breeders working with them a ton (my girl is from one such breeder) and they will put their reputations on the line for this. The SDs come from the islands of Kayuadi and Madu and possibly a few others. The problem is that Jamps and SDs aren't scientifically classified different due to the lack of differences. The only real way to tell them apart is experience, and the more these guys are crossed to bring in different morphs, the harder it gets.
Prehistoric Pets, to my knowledge, doesn't have any official vendors other than the original in California. However they do export and I know Jay (the owner) travels abroad from time to time, I'm not sure if he goes to the Hamm Germany or other European shows or not, but I think he does.

in your area, check with NERD. Otherwise Travis Kubes is the guy I got mine from, Harry Wessels has them too, as well as a few others, but those guys and Prehistoric Pets are who I would go through. I thought I had some pictures of some adult SDs from when I was at Travis's place, but I guess I only took pictures of the mainlands.
Jamps will hit 12 feet, so go through a reputable breeder.

I remember going to that place as a kid when I lived in Socal. I just found it on the web yesterday when I looked up SD retics and I couldn't believe it was still around. Anyway, thz for the info. How old is yours?

A little younger than a year and pounding food but not growing nearly as fast as a mainland would, superdwarfs are well documented on the retic forums along with accompanying egg sizes and hatchling weights. Baby sd's are well under 100g and mainlands are over. Egg size is astounding, I'll try and dig up some pics.

I will add that Jay, the owner of Prehistoric Pets (its thriving btw) was a skeptic at first IIRC, but hes a believer now,
