Leopard gecko, bearded dragon are the 2 most popular pet lizard. Also veered geckos are good.

I have NO idea what happened there. "veered" is supposed to be crested. Stupid autocorrect.
I have a bearded dragon. Click drake in my signature to see a video of him

"Rare" and "easy" are usually contradictory. Get a morph! There are several hundered leopard gecko morphs and probably a few dozen bearded dragon morphs.

Crested Gecko has to be the easiest lizard in my opinion. You don't need that big of a tank. You only need to feed insects if you want to because you can feed them a thing called Crested Gecko diet. There are also alot of morphs. Here is a good site:The Urban Gecko | (http://www.theurbangecko.com/)

How much are you willing to spend... there are a couple of lizards that I know of that is "rare" and "easy" to care for? Rare usually equals top $$$$.

Go with a leopard gecko morph. I've had so many wish I still had some but i re homed them when I joined the army. Now I'm married to a woman who is absolutely terrified of lizards lol! Snakes only for me :-( but I'd def, recommend leos. Their all amazing in my opinion.

As much as people say Bearded Dragons are easy, they can be but they are also a big step up from Geckos as far as housing and money.
Can you support a 120 Gallon cage and the 300+ crickets a week, or can you start a dubia colony. My baby when I first got her was eating almost 100 crickets a day, that was about 10 bucks. Plus you have to add in the cost of veggies which aren't cheap (at least not where I live) and as much as you think a big tank is far away Mine was in hers before she was a year old, I had to upgrade her from a 40 gallon breeder which was to small for her and she is on the smaller side for bearded dragons.

Ours does not eat crickets. Ever!! I hate having them in my house and so did Dexters previous owner. We feed him superworms and a good mix of fruit and veggies. He gets 10 worms a day. I get them by the thousand for $30 so it cost me 30 cents a day plus we have 3 kids so left over fruit and salad is easy to come by. I estimate he costs less than a dollar a day to feed. Yes his enclosure is huge but thats it. He is crazy easy other that the smell of his poop. So he is in my sons room. He is forced to clean it right away or smell it during xbox time so needless to say his cage is always clean. :)

I've had a crested. The one I had had a nasty disposition. Everyone else says they are awesome tho, I might have just had one with a chip on his shoulder lol, they are easy enough to take care of tho. Just stay away from the tokay's lol!

I think a Crested Gecko would be alot easier for you and you don't need the giant cage.

Depending on the age of the bearded dragon she gets she might not be able to feed super worms, and meal worms are next to useless and can also cause issues.
Superworms can also be fattening, not to the same degree as waxworms but many recommend them as a 'half staple' sort of half dubia and supers. Most do just feed supers, I stopped since I found when I switched her to them she got chunkier.
Gecko = less food, less money, less space (Also factor in cost of lights that have to be replaced, Dragons need UVB bulbs that must be replaces every 6 months)
Dragons = more food, more money and they do need a lot more space. People market them as a beginner lizard and though I know they are not anything near a monitor I don't think they should be a beginner.
