Hey everyone! So I finally got rid of that screen top and built a woodent top for my BeardI and may I say it's great! It doesn't scare her when I open it up, the lights don't clatter. Life is great :)

:) for a snake it would be harder because you have to make it 100000% secure. A snake could escape

Is that light inside the cage? If so, you really should take it out and place it on the top somehow.

Why's that?

Why would I do that?

Heat lights in any enclosure I'd imagine could burn an animal. Unless it is *impossible* the dragon can touch the light, it really should be outside the enclosure.

Sorry, I looked at the pics again. I think you're all good.
What is the surface temp of that basking spot? It seems as though the light is really close. Are you using a temp gun to measure or only the stick on ones at the side of the tank?

Awesome! What does your surface basking spot read? You must have a lower watt bulb in there? the pictures may be deceiving but the light just looks really close to the branch.

Cool :) Not trying to nag I was just wondering because my bulb for my beardies seems much further away. I am usually struggling to bring down the basking temp.

The dome is huge! The light bulb is 75 watt. The isn't even that far out. I have a 150 watt that gets it way to hot. I just had it set up for 1 hour then the lights went out for the night I'll let you know tomorrow :)
