Yeah! I think he is still hungry though. They dont have any fuzzies till Thursday and that pinky probably wasnt enough. He almost ate a piece of bark that the pinky was laying on after he ate the pinky lol

I completely believe his parents are what they call "High Red." Maybe not both parents, but one for sure!

I love his colours Trollbie. I think that you might want to just put a little plate under the pinky then he doesn't pick up any bark along with the mice.

no matter how many snakes you get,it's always great when they take their first feed for you
imo'it gives peace of mind and tells you your husbandry is ok,just need that perfect shed and job done
i've found that sometimes a snake can have a messy, all broken up shed with bits retained randomly over the body, after going through the stress of transportation
that said it hasn't happened too often, but i think i've had 2 or 3 carpet pythons do it
she's NOT camera shy,so imo a bonus,we should see some regular up dates as her colours strengthen
good looking boa mate:D

BTW, if no one has answered yet, YES, he is going to shed very soon. Within the week is my guess. Don't handle him (IMHO) until the day *after* be sheds. Some may disagree, but I like to "let the new paint dry" before handling again.

I did put a plate in... But he wouldn't eat it on it lol. But he pretty much started eating while I was holding him because he's used to live fuzzies.

Yes it was a relief! I was worried that he wouldn't know what to do with it because he's used to live. But he pretty much ate it from my hand. Didn't even strike. I think that's a good sign right? haha
He should be going into a shed any day now. He finally stopped exploring and is hiding now so hopefully I'll get 2 presents soon. Skin and poop :D

Look up rainbowsrus.com for example. He has a pairing of Ann x Diablo. Those are both "High Reds." Believe me, you'll understand where the name comes from. He also has some "High Orange" Abby x Frank, they made Casanova:

I hope he's gonna look like Ann! :) How can you tell what color he's gonna be though?

The only way to have any idea at all is to see the parents. Most of the babies tend to look a lot like one or the other, or sometimes both! See the link I posted above for Casanova.

Well I was told that the parents are red, and that's what the breeders told the pet store. I might be able to actually see the parents soon though. The pet store will for sure, so they'll tell me if I don't get to see them :)

One rat pinky per week is enough for a baby. If it's mouse pinkies, however, then multiple are required.
Be careful of feeding on bark. A piece could get get swallowed and impacted. If a plate does not work, then move him to another tub for feeding.
