Very nice. You don't see a whole lot amarali around, so it's always good to have one in the group :)

Hey for some reason i missed this thread! So here i resurrect it!!
Anyway, NICE snake! He's a bit darker than my girl, but she's so young. They are pretty slow growers too...is that typical of a lot of boas? I only have my bolivian girl (who's still very young) and two young dumeril's boas...who never eat so of course aren't growing.
ANyway i love his face! Do you have a close up pic? And i wonder about his tail coloring. If you've seen pics of my girl you can see she's reaaalllly pale compared to your guy!
Thanks for the revive, I missed this one too! I love Amarli, very unique looking boas!

Thank-you!
I never found him to be a really slow grower, but my other boas have grown faster for sure[bci].
I will try and get some close-ups of his face and tail.
As for your girl...I have never seen one so pale..I think she looks awesome!

I have what I believe to be a BCI that I adopted from a shelter but he looks a lot like your BCA. Since you have both would you mind explaining some of the physical differences?

This is a great video on them (not my video lol)

Mine is particularly light colored, though they are all universally lighter. She was shimmering pink when i got her. I'm sad to see that a lot of that has gone (though it is significantly there), but she should stay lighter in general just due to her breeding. When i got her (from the second reptile show we'd ever seen) it was just a gal and her husband that had a clutch of them for sale. She was the lightest one.
I don't think she'll ever be as dark as yours, trent, but it will be fun to see! You can see they have matching eye stripes, but at least while she's a baby my girl looks almost like a different snake!

Thanks for the info, I had never heard of these before. I wonder how they evolved to have shorter tails. I was reading that they are savanna snakes so maybe they didn't need the long, prehensile, tree climbing tails like their cousins.

I've actually not been around many boas to know the difference in their tails. She uses hers a lot. My ball pythons have fat tails, and my carpet python has the skinniest longest tail ever, and she's about in-between.
I'd like to see some outside pics of sterling, actually. I want to see more of that color and pattern! Do you notice a pink sheen on him at all, trent?

The bigger they get, the more you're going to notice. If they got the size of a Burmese, you'd see things you never even thought were there :)
