Agkistrodon contotrix contortrix is the Southern copperhead. They're fairly common in the trade, as the Northerns cannot be sold in their native territory. I have a pair of juvie Southern coppers, and they're awesome snakes. Very curious little things.
Ssshane, does yours musk a lot when it gets excited? The one of my pair (I think it's the male) musks whenever it's feeding time or when I give him water. Ick. lol

I have a pair that are F1s from Rowan Co. NC, its the next county over from me.

Mine do not musk. But I have had mine since they were born. I think they are 4 yrs old now, maybe 5, I would have to check. Mine have eaten f/t since day one. Periodically I will give them a young live hopper, but not very often.

They are gorgeous. I've only had mine for a few weeks. They are CBB and are about 6 months old. They're cute little buggers and very curious. The one never musks but the other does every time he is fed or if I have to move him to clean his cage.
