If you all like the layout, I will probably re-do the rest of the site to match it.

I didn't read the site, since most of it is written by the other people. But it looks good :) Let me know if you want me to read it over.
Love it Wayne...it will be my go to site for new keepers :)

That's only one page, it's the mouse debate page.
I do like the layout, and the template is easy to work with, so I will probably put my other pages into the same format for uniformity.
The annual tragedy was written entirely by me, and that's where I find some grammar issues.
I realized after it was only the one page. I agree you should put the rest of the site on that layout. Looks clean, organized. Definitely a page I would not think twice about using information from.

The annual tragedy was written entirely by me, and that's where I find some grammar issues.
Every year, beginning in March, the reptile market becomes flooded with baby Savannah Monitors. M̶a̶n̶y̶ Thousands are imported from Africa and sold over the internet, at pet shops, and reptile shows for as little as $15 per lizard.
The irresponsible sellers of these baby animals are nearly all guilty of holding back the necessary information required to properly take care of these lizards and, because of that, nearly all of these babies fail to reach their first birthday.
After all, if the seller were to inform the buyers that the "cheap" lizard they were about to purchase was going to need a a cage the size of a room with (literally) a ton of dirt in the bottom, and that it was going to eat several thousand dollars worth of food, and that it may never become "dog tame," they would never sell v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶m̶a̶n̶y̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ as many of them. And in our struggling economy, that is not going to be a popular move; so they often (nearly always) distort the truth and will tell you whatever you want to hear, just so they can collect your money. This is heartbreaking and tragic.
If you care, and I hope you do (since you have read this far) and are willing to provide for your lizard properly, there is no greater satisfaction than owning a healthy Savannah Monitor.
Thank you for reading, and enjoy your lizard.

Don't you think the invertebrates are worth their own page?
I started list them on this page, and it just felt like it was out of place.
So I am building an invertebrate page that will list all the nifty prey choices we have available.

That's actually even better.
The bottom line is, unless people take proper care of them in the first place, it's not going to matter what they get fed, since they are all doomed in the first place.

I just learned the codes to do that about an hour ago.

The nice thing about the "light box" script, I can even make words turn into pictures.
For example, rather than clutter up a page with pictures and thumbnails every time I want to show an example, I can make the word turn into a picture.
Case in point, If I say use a watering can, rather than have my paragraph interrupted with a picture of a watering can, I can make it so when the reader clicks on the word "watering can" a picture will pop up.
It's a nice touch.

How will the know the word is clickable? with an underline?

Yes, and whenever your mouse pointer turns into a finger, it means you are pointing at a link.
But I will probably use "click here" to be really sure.

"Hot basking area of 130 degrees (F) or better"
shouldn't it read, "or hotter", or "-140(F)"

Wayne, for the evil purpose of being politically correct, I'd also avoid using the word "Nazi". Perhaps it could be re-worded to "Grammar police"?

Oh, yes, I see it on the savannahmonitor . co (http://savannahmonitor.co) website. On the varanus . us /mice (http://varanus.us/mice) site it just says "for correcting my errors." Yes, I'd prefer it be the "Grammar Police" rather than Grammar Nazi ;)

If I think I feel something on my arm, I usually look first before slapping it. I prefer to blow them off than to flick them :o .
Edit: unless it's a wasp or a bee. Then I have someone come in and kill it :p

for real, we have a grammar king on another forum I frequent, this guy is untouchable:
grammar king:"Nah, *****, hit play. We don't pause anything. Time doesn't pause; people gotta use their time wisely to go out and get that bread."
person A:"That comma after Nah shouldn't be there sir."
grammar king:"Yes it should be. "*****" is an appositive. Read the sentence without "*****" and it makes perfect sense. If you don't like that explanation, I can simply tell you that "Nah" was used an interjection, and therefore a comma is required after it. Just stop, please."

OK, so I am just playing around here, I have the portal page almost completely re-done, but my limited attention span is getting in the way.. So I started with a video gallery, and I want that to match the rest of the site also.
Tell me what you think.
