I don't think I've posted about my american toad, so will do that now.
Four summers ago my friend and I were walking, and one of her neighbors was mowing his lawn. I noticed a little toad only about half a foot away from the lawn mower and hopping for its life. We stopped him and scooped up the little toad. She was so small, only about 3cm in length, and since it was almost winter I took her home with me. Over the winter I fed her lots of crickets, meal worms, wax worms, etc - she quickly became a big girl. She became way too dependent on me for her food source that the next summer, I decided to keep her.
It's weird to be attached to a toad, and everyone always "ew"s and "yuck"s at her, but she has such a personality for a toad haha. When she's hungry she taps on the glass and hops around and if she still isn't noticed, she will sit in front of the glass and give death stares.
Anyway, enough talk, pictures!
When I first brought her home.
