View Full Version : Don't see this everyday around here
Sad and probably going to start a massive debate on exotic pet keeping in my town but at least they gave it a proper burial.

link didn't work for me either. Try this one: UPDATED: Four-foot alligator given burial in Caledon | Your Caledon online newspaper (http://www.caledonenterprise.com/news/four-foot-alligator-found-dead-in-caledon/)
That's interesting, I'm surprised I never heard anything about this. I live just in orangeville. I don't think it will have any affect on people keeping exotic pets in caledon.
looked up Caledon by laws, Orangeville by laws and Mono. Orangeville is by far the most strict prohibbiting just about every snake and reptiles and mamal other then domesticated dogs, cats and ferrets. Caledon and Mono both bylaw venomous reptiles and snakes and any snake growing over 3meters or 9.84 ft. Also alligators, crocodiles and gavail and caymans are on all 3 lists

Most likely someones pet that got to big.
It is actually kind of an ongoing joke around town here. Caledon was voted the safest town in Ontario for I think 2 or 3 years in a row. We have virtually no crime BUT... people drop bodies here all the time. In the last 3 years there have been 4 bodies found within a 5 km radius of my house (creepy). Just a couple weeks ago they found a 2 year old (2 years dead, not a 2 year old), body just up the street from me where Elton John built a house for his lover.
I am only a 10 min drive from the city so people drive up here and see farm fields and think they are in the boonies so they dump bodies.

Yeah we have some pretty decent people around here :)

I believe that if you are a registered breeder/store you are allowed to produce and sell prohibited animals because you can be supplying them to people in areas that allow them.

Yeah I think he trucked it across the 401 and up 410
everyone/thing from the city is finding their way up here somehow :)

The lil rascal! Always escaping from his 50 gallon tank no matter how many times I tell him to stay!
Didn't I tell you to secure that screen top better?

So a double standard then. Figures.

Not really... As a registered breeder or store you generate income from your business and in turn pay taxes. As a owner, no money or revenue is collected from you.
