Hey... I'm new to this forum.

Hope to meet some new friends who are just as obsessed with animals as I am.

My friends think I'm an animal hoarder, but I don't have 20 cats or 10 dozen snakes. I have a mini zoo with 9 pets who are all precious and very special.

Hello and welcome to our zoo. So what kind of animals do you have?

Hey thanks for the warm welcome. I live in an art studio and I have 2 cats, a young female ferret, a baby corn snake, 2 black racers, a tarantula, an Asian tree frog, and an iguana. I have a 10 gallon tank, a 23 gallon tank, and a ferret cage that the racers like to hang out in (at least it's being put to good use cuz paparazzi doesn't like being caged at all). I believe it's cruel to leave animals alone in a cage for most of their life. I let them be themselves.

Snakes are solitary animals, it does NOT do the snake anything good to be cohabited, in fact it probably causes a LOT of stress and husbandry related problems. PLEASE put them in their own separate enclosures for the sake of your animals.

I don't get the point of wild anmials in an studio like eli said snakes are loners only at breeding time do they even want to be together and even then sometimes how do you feed the snakes

What you're doing is called neglect. Your animals have certain needs that can't be met in a free roaming situation. Did you know your iguana requires high UV-B exposure and high levels of humidity? All of your reptiles need specific basking temperatures.

Welcome, don't let everyone's comments scare you off from the forum. Just be prepared to explain yourself when you make comments about housing and care of your animals. Remember, everyone on here is a reptile enthusiast and take the care and husbandry of these animals very seriously. You can learn a lot from everyone on here. Just don't let the feisty ones scare you off... LOL... Just a bit of advise, free roaming ferrets may also stress your reptiles as they are very curious and may try to get into your reptiles enclosures. They might even try to kill, play with, and/or eat a small snake, reptile, or amphibian...
