I've been into herps off & on for years. This year I finally decided to get into raising & breeding boas. Things have changed a lot since I raised corns using aquariums with heat mats. I'm here to learn about boa morphs, genetics, breeding and construction of updated housing.

I'm making a first stage rack system for my eight young boas. I'm using sterilite 41 qt. ( 34.75''L x 16.5''W x 6''H - Model #1960 ) for them right now. I'm thinking of putting the flexwatt in the back, on the bottom of each shelf (shelves are 36" deep x 17" wide). I'm a little confused if that's the right direction to put it. Or if I should run it length ways. Also how big/type thermo I will need to maintain the wattage I need for 85 - 110 temps. Can anyone make any suggestions for me? Any help would be very appreciated.
I hope you all have a great day.

Welcome to the forum! With 41 qt tubs you could go with a foot of 11in flexwatt under each tub. As far as thermostats, I use johnson A419 myself but a lot of people swear by the helix thermostats. Its really just a matter of personal preference.
