Just curious how long your carpets typically hide after eating? Mine has not moved from (or even really within) his hide for 48 hours and counting. He is 8 months old and recently acquired. He is new, so I haven't had a lot of time to get used to his personality. Maybe he is just a shy fellow and will hide all the time anyway.

I'm not bothered by it, and in fact I would guess it's probably a good thing. If my daily obligations didn't prevent me, I would probably find a warm place to sleep for a few days after a big meal too :p I am just wondering what the range is for most people.

My ball pythons will hide for about 2 days right after a meal before coming out for their nightly crawling about... I'd think it's about the same for carpets, but you may just have a shy guy on your hands :)

My carpets will go into a hide for a few days after eating, just depends on how big the meal is.

My JCP will be in hunting mode about an hour after feeding and never hides. I feed him rats that are roughly 3 times his own girth. The only time he even uses his hide is when he is about to shed :)

My guy actually comes out and basks to digest after a meal. I think he's a big guy in a little guy's body, he thinks he can take on the world :)

My retic has done anywhere from 24 hours to 4 days. But I usually see her back out and around within 48 hours.

Snakes hide after they eat because they are vulnerable to attack when they are digesting something big, plus who doesn't like to sleep of a good meal! Yes it is normal, snakes in the wild can do it for a week

My Spot ate a big rat for his size and he hasn't been out for a week. He will very discretely switch hides, but usually doesn't come out and wait until he's ready to eat again.
