View Full Version : "Leucistic" Varanus kingorum eggs on the ground!!!

The female dropped her first pair of eggs for us. Average clutch size is 2 to 3 eggs. They can lay a clutch every 2 weeks or so a few times per season like geckos. The gestation on these was rather short in varanid standards. The female dropped eggs only 12 days after copuation.

Whats really cool is that it is a US first. Wild types have been bred here infrequently before but never the "leucistics".

Wow, thats crazy that they drop in 12 days! And they can produce every two weeks?! Thats gotta be tough on them nutritionally. Congratulations though!
