I just tried feeding my retic a small rabbit instead of 2 jumbo rats and she acts interested in the rabbit but will not eat it. normally she will eat without a problem.

Details really help.
-temps/humidity
-when was the last time you fed her?
-how big is she?
-etc etc

You might have to try scenting the rabbit with the rat.

not sure what details ur looking for but i put the rabbit in the cage (live) normally i never do live and my snake will watch the rabbit acting interested and then just back down.

If iti never usually eats live it may not know what to do! Why put a live rabbit in with the snake? Why not fk or ft

If you never feed live, why did you this time?
A snake who is not normally used to feeding on live could be startled and or hurt more because it has never had to deal with something that could potentially attack it.

How big is this Retic? If shes big enough for rabbits, I would keep trying and I do like the rat scenting idea.
Black Betty took rabbits before and shes a Dum. Anyway, I was just wondering.

Isis my retic will not take rabbits but the one time she did was when I feed her a small rat first then right before she was done with the rat I put the rabbit in her mouth and she took it.

ok. well i offered her the rabbit again later that evening when i got out of work and i figured it was the same day as feeding day so it would be ok. this time i had some rat scent on the rabbit and she got it. i knew she knew what to do because i feed her live every once in a while just so she can excersize some of her muscles. she is about 7 1/2 ft and the rabbit is maybe 2 1/2 lbs. not a very big rabbit.

Congrats! Seems like the prey size is appropriate too. Lets see some pictures when you get a chance.
