No I don't actually think that she is turning paradox. She looked like a normal salmon with alot of reds in her. Then this happened within one shed about two days ago. She is still alert, active, still will eat. There are no blisters or scales ripped off of her anywhere. The shed came off in one piece and she has never has had an issue with shedding. Temps are 88F hot side and the humidity is at 65%. Is there anyone who has seen this dractic of a colour change, or anything remotly close. I can't seem to find anything lke it anywhere, You probably need to copy the link to your address bar to see the pic.

Before pics would help.

I've seen snakes with pigments fade away in a similar fashion. There are a few retics out there that exhibited this, and I've seen it in ball pythons as well. In less drastic cases the pigment occasionally comes back even, or could even progress.

I have heard and seen pictures of this happening before with boas and other snakes. It is usually attributed to a tainted food item (frozen feeders). Many times it is paired with a nasty defecation that is somewhat oily. Did you notice anything different or abnormal with the most recent poo?

I know it's not the most pleasant topic, but it would help narrow things down.

I've read about a few cases of snakes changing color completely after a shed (like a spider ball python turning completely grey as if it were an axanthic, but then changing back to its normal coloring a few sheds later). PM me if you want links to where I saw those. I have no idea what causes it, but my guess it has something to do with what the snake is being fed and hormonal changes. You'll have to wait until the next shed cycle or two to see if it goes away.

Is he/she reaching sexual maturity now? I guess it might be possible that is calico

The spider turning grey is actually a phenomena called IMG, that many still believe is genetic, just not in the simple ways most of us know. It's not sure what triggers the gene, or how it is exactly inherited, but it can be genetic apparently... It's not only in spiders either, its been exhibited in a pastel, a yellowbelly, other spiders, and normals.
I have to agree with Stephan actually, Reminds me a lot of the Calico Reticulated python, or the ball pythons that suddenly have patches of colour fade(not the IMG ones) which is also inherited in a peculiar way and appears ontogenic, meaning appears with maturity. Regardless it makes for a very unique snake, something worth holding onto and getting lots of pictures of!

The last time she deficated it seemed fine, and I too was leaning toward the tainted food but i have three other adults that eat the rats and no problem...yet anyway, and hopefully they don't,. Yes she's at about sexual maturity, she's about 3 now. Everyone who has seen this before, did you ever happen to hear that there was a definite cause or if the snake lived because to me it seems like I either get bloodwork done to check for excess bacteria, or if other peoples snakes have done this and pulled through fine than I'll Just wait and see. If it progressed and she stayed healthy I wouldn't be happier, I was planning on breeding her in the next couple years.
I couldn't find a before pic but I pulled one from google that pretty much shows what she looked like, she was just a bit darker.

Heres a pic of her brother. I actually just pulled him out from being with my hog for about three months. I put a pic of her up too what do yah think? I think she's pregnant. And no I don't keep her in that bin, and I shouldn't move a pregnant boa but they made a hell of a mess with water and crap so I figured a good clean was needed befor she goes back in.
By the way thanks for the help everyone.

I'm actually quite surprised to see this many people actually saying genetics. I sure hope it is and it progresses because it does look pretty sweet and I don't want to lose her because of a rat. I had to take a couple more pics of her too lol

That boa does look interesting...I really hope that it is a neat genetic trait, but every Bci that I have heard of having that "bleached" look later in life after a shed has been bad news. I am a new member here, but have been very active on other boa forums for some time now. I was reminded of this blog from Jonathan Brady of Deviant Constrictors:
Deviant Constrictors | jb's blog - Are Frozen and Thawed Rats Killing Your Boas? (http://www.deviantconstrictors.com/blog/are-frozen-and-thawed-rats-killing-your-boas.html)
Maybe yours has this to a lesser extent?

However, I do not wish to pick on Rodent Pro, I have purchased from them for years now with no issues whatsoever and they have great customer service. But since they supply such a large number of reptile keepers with rodents, there may be that one that gets through from time to time (as do the other suppliers) and we just hear about them more because more people use them in relation to other companies.

Has this boa regurged a meal in the past few months? If you do not want to say it in this forum, could you P.M. me who your rodent supplier is? This has peaked my curiosity.

Thanks
