He will love it .. well done bud..

Usually you are better not to put holes on top as you loos the heat gradinet but for his size and the size of the stacks.. I think it gonna be perfect ..

Good job .. I bet you that you cant wait to have the lil' guY!

I personally dont like retes stacks unless its for a skittish species. I find all of my monitors just sit on the top of it regardless of the different temps. Ive tried to mediate the temps to make it cooler, warmer etc to entice them to sit in the other sections, with no luck. I keep blackthroats and savannahs, so they arent particularly a skittish species, so maybe thats why. I personally feel spending time on a retes stack for this species is a waste of time and resources! get him a treetrunk from the park, clean it up and watch him clumb it. My guys have a tree in their enclosure with branches. They can climb if they want, or bask low. Thats the kind of options i like :)

Looks like he may outgrow it pretty fast though, what are the dimensions. Still a very interesting enclosure/addition though.

V.aw .. interesting .. see I have a retess stack .. well 2 levels for my large 4 foot black throat and he is always changing from top to bottom although the baby just always stay where its the warmest..

and If I go in wiht my sav.. I had a 3 level stack in one, and they use all 3 levels all the time .. I was amazed at how well it actually worked but in my other cage, my larger sav regulates his temp simply by how far away he is to the lamp like sidewards and not as in level wise ..

I'd have to say that this really boils down to what your monitor wants and not really species specific.. Although I have woth a max of half a douzen albigs and a bit over a douzen of Savnahs.. these were my observations ..

Id hate to say this again but ou of everything I learned from these froums about monitors .. this one really stuck ..

Let the monitor tell you what it wants.. give him the choice..

Good points gentelmen, thank yopu

An 8 Ackie is giving it a "test run" and has been on every level he seems to crap on the top, hang on the third, and visets the 2
and the first is half under the dirt and have only seen him in there 1time...But he was chompen on a cricket

The whole thing only took about 15 minutes to build and was fun to build with my oldest daughter (10) the cost around 12.00 no biggie, and is enlargable ...just slip another 2x2 under the 9x10 planks

Thanks for your comments

V.aw It is good to see I have another resource re:blackthroats
