so herps are all different, and theres always going to be that one thing that stands out and makes them that much different! so ill start.

im not sure if this is all savannah monitors, but my cassie as soon as shes done eating she will rub the top of her head on the floor :S or a hard object like her wood stack, she does this over and over like its some kind of bad habit, hmm :D i love her! sadly i dont have more habits because ive only had her for 2 -3 months :P

and heres a pic just because i love this one just took

My blue tail, Max, cuddles with a stuffed turtle.

My monocled cobra, Shelby, has some odd eating habits. He will eat his food like a normal snake most of the time, but occasionally he likes to tear it apart and pick at it. For about a month after I bumped his food size up from rat pinks to rat pups, he would tear all 4 legs off the pup and eat them before eating the main body. He eventually started eating them whole after he shed again (probably got used to the larger food and grew), and another time I fed him a f/t rat that burst open. I guess the intestines tasted extra-yummy, because Shelby kept eviscerating the rats and sucking out the intestines like spaghetti for the next 5 or 6 feedings. I didn't get any video of it unfortunately, but he is bizarre.

I just moved him to a larger cage as he'd outgrown his first one, and now all he does is hide under the paper bedding and hiss his fool head off and lash his tail up out of the corner of the paper. So when I come in the room, I hear a loud harsh hissing and see the tiny tip of an orange tail lashing about in the corner of the cage.

*sigh* Cobras.....

Yeah... it's just my OCD. I want all posts to be organized into nice neat threads hahaha :p

Haha, I am the opposite of OCD when it comes to organization- my life is "organized chaos". Everything I touch looks like a cyclone came through it, but I know where everything is. I don't know how, but it works for me.

MY workmates would always complain about my desk being a total mess BUT whenever someone asked for something i could immediately put my hands on to it.

I'm so disorganised that it's just funny.. And I definately don't have a clue where anything is..... Luckily my girlfriend keeps her eyes on where I put things. :D

I'm in the middle, I'm kinda organized but then I'm messy at the same time. I know where things are, but if someone moves it I won't ever be able to find it.

Back to the thread topic, my dxj carpet for the past year or so has decided that she is going to eat all of her rats back wards. She'll strike and constrict normally then when she's done with that, its straight to the rump. Its weird but its just one of her quirks.

I would really like to see that. I have never heard of a snake taking a prey item apart. If you could get that on a video I would really love to see it.

My BP eats backwards sometimes too. She also eats upside down sometimes. Idk why, but whatever works for her!

She also likes to rest on her thermomoters, and they would eventually fall off. I had to put them in a certain corner at the very bottom of the cage. :P

Idk if this qualifies as odd behavior or more of a typical Mack behavior but when its feeding time, Merlin knows it. When you open the tub, sometimes he wont let you toss the rat in. Instead he will come half way out and snatch it. Pretty scary for a 5'+ Mack that is otherwise tame to do this. We since learned that a snake hook works wonders for keeping his feeding impulses under control.

There was another time when Lancelot constricted 2 pinkies at the same time. Macks... :p

Sorry for the blurriness of it but it was the only pic I had of that incident.
