So i just wanted to ask if night crawlers can be a staple diet for savs, i can buy like 1000 online from fishing websites for 50 bucks, and night crawlers are just full of meat and calcium right? can nigth crawlers replace crickets? hmmm questions! i can breed them to, its not to hard. i could also sell them to fishing stores when i have lots, hmm is it really worth it? hmmmmm

I would not use as a primary food.

a good varied diet seems best.

Order up a bunch and throw them in the tank. You sav will love digging them up :)

how fast do they breed?i know they are great for making furtile soil, so im guessing they eat alot? Think you could buy them and freeze them, and thaw them out later?

No they tend to liquefy in a weird way when they thaw. And Brady, if you're going to buy them to breed I would recommend two things. First, see if you can find the African night crawlers. They do much better in room temperature soil. Canadian ones need cooler temps, so don't do well indoors. Second, if you buy them from a bait shop it's always best to let them be in clean soil for a few days before feeding them. That allows them to cycle out whats in their digestive tract. While they may be ok from a bait shop, they may also have been raised on soil tainted with fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. As bait it doesn't matter, but as feeder prey it does.
