Personally, I prefer snakes.
feeding is usually less often
feeding can be frozen prey; no insects or fresh veggies needed daily
no legs; I don't like lizards that jump :p
much "cooler" feeding method IMO: constricting vs just catch and eating an insect
just a few I could think of right off the bat. I'm sure there's more. I love lizards to look at and what not, but I don't think it would be the right pet for me. :)

I always wanted a lizard but never seem to get the time to buy one a snake would come up and I buy the snake over the lizard but I would love to have a sav just a little to hard to take care for me and I don't got that much time

It really depends on the snake and the lizard. It's hard to generalize.

I'm with BB on this one.
Both will always hold a place for me.

I prefer snakes because they are much easier to take care of. My son had a couple of large iguanas when he was a kid and their high maintenance turned me off of lizards. Snakes are much more soothing to handle than lizards as well.

Snakes are definitely easier to take care of. Some lizards are an everyday pet. Snakes can usually go a few days without needing much of anything. I would have to agree with BB and Wayne, it would be too hard to pick one or the other. I like having both. As far as lizards go though, I really like the uromastyx because of their personalites and how easy it is to feed them. I really don't miss having to deal with feeder insects all the time.

I've got both... both have differing husbandry requirements, both have different inate interesting characteristics. I don't really prefer one over the other.

I like both equally. every snake owner should at least have one lizard imho :)

I think lizards have more personality than snakes and you can interact with them (used to play fetch with one of mine :)).
However they are more effort to look after/feed than snakes and cost more (which is why we had to rehome our lizards :()
I'm a snake guy. I never really thought about why. I think the way they move and the patterns/colors is what draws me to them.
I think lizards are neat but I've never seriously considered owning any. If I were to get any I think I'd go with leopard geckos as they seem relatively easy to care for and come in cool colors. One thing that I don't like about lizards is how fragile they seem in comparison to snakes. Their little legs & toes just seem so brittle I'd be afraid of hurting them.

I completely agree with Rob on this one. I find lizards to be more entertaining for the most part. It does depend on the day though. Some days I want to watch and play with the lizards and others I just want to chill on the couch.
They both have their ups and downs but all in all, love them both :)
