I fed my snake (Rosario) the other day, and now his/her body is sagging around the middle. Is that like a normal digestion process or what? He's still moving around, just it looks kind of strange.

A picture goes a long way when you're trying to figure something out.
How much is it sagging?
What did you feed it?

It's not sagging THAT much, but I'll try to get a pic.
And I fed it a worm (its a dekayi)

Yeah a pic will help a lot.

Here is a pic. Notice how his body goes from regular to thin and saggy pretty quickly

That's where the worm is it will go away in a few days

Yeah that just looks like the bump from the worm. Nothing to worry about.

But why is there a bump and a sag? Shouldn't there just a bump?

I'm worried more about the sag than the bump. The scales on the top of the sag are wrinkled a bit...

I wouldn't worry too much right now, Stu. It looks like the snake has a full stomach, and what you are seeing as a "sag" is just the body post-stomach returning to its normal width. Give it a few days until the worm is digested and then see how the snake looks. I'm sure he/she is ok and you're just experiencing the stress and paranoia all us new snake owners go through. I freaked out every time my first snake did ANYTHING new for about a year. Wild-caught snakes are always a bit trickier though. You don't know if he/she has any parasites. Perhaps a vet visit is in order for a fecal test?

Don't really see what your talking about. I just see the bulge and everything looks normal.

My parents don't DO vets. Silly, I know. but I've had a TON of pets (hermit crabs, frogs, birds, a rabbit, other snakes, fish, mice, gerbils , lizards, box turtles, snapping turtles, etc.), and all the ailments they've ever had (broken legs, infections, cat bites, sicknesses, etc.) I (and one of my older sisters) was able to cure. parasites, though, I could not do. If they are external parasites, I could give him some sort of bath...

Looks normal to me... but you never know if there's parasites or whatnot since you got a wild snake

Looks perfectly fine to be honest... Let him settle n digest, then have a look. :) One thing I will say tho, I agree with treating what u can yourself but sometimes (not now...) a trip to the vets is needed.

You can get some poop from the snake and bring it to the vet and they will look to see if there is any parasites cost about $23.
