So am setting up 4 show viv's in the next few weeks to be able to show what can be done with the things I sell (I'll have big pics of the show vivs at the show) But they will also house 4 of my snakes.

I need to hopefully use a variety of bedding mediums, I already have aspen for one viv. I want to use coconut husk for another (to house my snow corn, nice contrast!) Unless there is some reason I haven't heard of on why not to use coconut with corns.

I have lots of my own, home-made hides, climbs, live and fake plants, water dishes, and backgrounds to use.

So I need suggestions on 2-3 more types of distinctively different types of bedding medium so each show viv looks completely different from the other!!

Thanks in advance for all your input!!!!

What are you housing?

All corns, various sizes and ages!! I already have aspen as one of the 4 substrates I will use. I like contrast.

The snakes I have going into the vivis are: 1 snow corn (would like a dark substrate for her), 1 Anery A, 1 Okeetee (using aspen for her), and 1 Amel.

So I am looking for a dark substrate for the snow, and a lighter substrate that is not aspen shavings (could do the other type of aspen for one) for the other 2.

Basically gonna repeat my previous post......

For the snow corn, you can use ReptiBark.
For the other ones, you can use CareFresh. It comes in many colors.

Thanks, Alessia!! That does sound good, just seeing if there are other suggestions out there too!! I'll be doing the shopping this weekend, so I want it all set up in my head!!

bloody $#%@!! I just spent all day yesterday creating a mold and molding an igloo hide for my winter themed show tank.

I just went to release the igloo from the mold and have now broken BOTH the igloo AND the mold.:pissedoff:

I have to start ALL OVER AGAIN!!:unhappy:

Man that got really suck. I feel for you. Reptile bark works great. I have a friend that uses peat moss in his King snake cage.

ok, so I'm setting up 4 show tanks. So I went out and bought white carefresh (for a winter/snow theme) which I will house my Anery A in.

I already have aspen, with which I am thinking an Egyptian theme which will house my Okeetee

I bought repti-bark which I will do a rainforest theme and house my snow in.

I bought black aspen (I checked it out, it's non-toxic) and am thinking of a space theme which will house one of my Amels.

So lots of idea's and it's all about contrast against the snake to be housed.
