So I've never posted anything about my uro I just realized. Here's his stats: He's a 2007 cb male red saharan uromastx that I got from Linsday Pike. He has put on about 120 grams since I got him so he's a fat happy guy. He likes eating his food and he really likes when I can put him outside in the sun. He basically glows when I do that. Here he is...

Me too Chuck, uros have always been my favorite lizards. They have so much personality. He's pretty lazy then all of a sudden he'll run around for awhile then back to lazy. That tail is no joke though, he wasn't the friendliest guy when I first got him:hmm:

You should get one if you have the room, they are great pets and are easy to take care of. Just keep them hot and give them a varied diet and they are happy as can be.

It's hard to find CBB specimens here and right now I am pretty tapped out in terms of critter space until I get my house and reptile room all together and do my builds of course

You've never seen a uro before:eek: They are awesome lizards that only eat leafy greens and veggies so no hassle with insects. You should check out some of the other kinds of uros. They come in a lot of different colors and sizes.

When I first got him he wasn't handled that much he was a 3 year old lizard that wasn't too keen on being handled. But he was never aggressive, he was just skittish and squirmy. Honestly I haven't worked with a whole bunch but now he'll eat out of my hand and let me pick him up without much struggle. About the tail, in the beginning he got me a couple times with it. Its pretty surprising how much power they can generate with that tail. But thats really their only defense, they don't bite. But I've seen pics of people bleeding from the big Egyptians giving them a tail whip, but thats from a 3ft uro. Once you build some trust with these guys they are the best lizards you can ask for.
