Roadtrip to IL State Capitol

Fellow Herpers,

This Tuesday, March 6, Brian Potter will again be travelling to Springfield, IL to fight for us in court. Today at the Expo, I was placed on a list to go with a group to show our support. The woman from the Expo will be calling me later in the week with further details. I don't know if there will be a bus involved or if we will all be carpooling or what will be arranged for the day. I know it's a four hour drive and we will be leaving around 8.

If you are interest in showing your support, in a courtroom where it matters most, AND CAN MAKE THE TRIP, please PM me and I'll be happy to share the details.

Seriuosly, no one else can go? Who has a Sick Day left, or a Personal or Vacation Day left in 2012? Raise your hands.

Some jobs will even let you trade a day off with a colleague, or even just for another day of the week. If your day off is Wednesday, try to get it switched to Tuesday.

Sometimes you'd be amazed at the available options.

I used to live in Illinois (north Chicago suburbs), but don't anymore. I've been to Springfield, though. I really enjoyed the surrounding area (New Salem), but Springfield itself was a bit run down. If I still lived there, I'd gladly take you. Enjoy your time there and take pictures.

Update: This hearing has again been postponed, so no trip to Springfield tomorrow. I'll keep you all up to date. Hopefully more of us will be able to band together and attend on the new date.

Another Update;

Hearing is now back on! 401 S 2nd St., Springfield, IL. I also have the room & time, but left that downstairs. Bummed cuz we only have 1 car now, and with Marcy found daycare, I can't leave her without it. No one is carpooling, and only one person that I know of is going. NOT HAPPY!:pissedoff:

Final update in this: I AM GOING! I told all of you I'd be there and I don't lie very well. I'll take some pics when I can...

The one thing I've found the need and passion to fight for is my hobby! am not going to allow a four-hour ride keep me from exercising myvright as an Americen.

I've also been wanting to see my dad, so it's just another few hours south. I'm making a few days of it.

Well, nothing to report. Case is postponed, apparently so the author of the bill can get her facts straight, and write a bit less ambiguously. We had a good turnout on our side, I counted 23 opponents and only 3 proponents.
