Now I can stop staring out the window! Plenty more pictures on the way, I promise. A couple were a bit chilled so they're warming up for a while.
Sooo EXCITED!

I'm pretty sure that's what thetly said. I'm going to call and ask about the parents (to ensure I don't buy a related animal in the future. These guys could/should be 7'-8' as adults, and really wide, thick.

Yes, we do, after the animals have had a chance to settle in to their new home. Let the little ones relax, take a load off, and recuperate from their journey:)

Ok, I had to get the lumber for my closet rack. For now, they're unwinding (or just hiding) in their tubs. We've got the heat up a bit and the tubs in front of the vent to warm them up. Honestly, you guys know how long I've wanted to have these guys and now they're actually here! I am still really in "shock and awe" over these guys! I cannot wait to take more pics! Gotta put up their rack (shelves) first.
We appreciate your patience during this time.

I wish I would've typed "these guys" a few more times in that last post. :crazy2:
They came with a note that said when to feed 'em, and honestly I think it says 3/3? Maybe they'll be comfortable enough by then, but I'm not counting on it. We shall see... if I can ever put them down again!

Ok, so I've never claimed to be a carpenter or even very handy, but you get the idea here. I've gotta take the top two shelves off because the top row of large bins is somehow TOO snug now. Not sure how that happened. So, we'll be back at it tomorrow to make the necessary changes and finish it up.
So, I'm letting these big kids acclimate for a while, but the urge to pick them up and take a thousand pictures is pretty strong! Not sure if I can hold out too long. I'm gonna let them do their thing for about a week, then feed, and twocdays later, all bets are off! There'll be some serious (and some maybe not so serious) pictures taken. For now, here's the closet rack at the end of the day. Sorry the lighting sucks so bad.

Would I make you guys/gals wait that long for pictures? How could I do that to my friends? Let me also add that pictures in no way do these guys justice! I can't bring out the intricacies of the dorsal pattern (maybe cuz I'm using a DROID and not a camera? Duh)
The guy at Reptmart said the same thing, but he's the salesman. Speaking of that, HUUUGE thank you to Reptmart! They've got a great reputation for a reason. They were great to work with! Sent lots of pictures and asked questions to make sure I got the animals I want. Will definitely be doing business with them again, cuz I'm gonna need more MGB's!!

That side pattern reminds me a lot of Black Bettys side pattern. If she is crossed with a MGB, could that explain her size?

I'd say it's definitely possible.I think a Dumeril's x MGB cross is somewhat common with their commonalities in appearance. The husbandry is quite different though. MGB's come from a drier are of the island, so don't have the same heat/humidity requirements.

That's funny, I was gonna name the female with the dark tail Black Betty (Bambalam)!

That is funny :) I will try to get a shot of her side pattern ASAP and post it here to see what you guys think.

Hey! Don't hijack my post! Lol TOTALLY KIDDING! I'd like to see the comparison myself. Not my intention at all. This thread is all about your new MGBs. I am curious about your opinion on Black Bettys side pattern to see if she has some MGB in her as well.

Ok here is a pic of Black Betty showing her side pattern. What do you think? Does she have some MGB in her and does that explain her size?

The second language in Madagascar is French (Malagasy is #1). Efficus in French means "Powerful!" I declare 1.0 M.G.B. "Efficus!"

Efficus is an awesome name for that snake. I still loove that MGB pattern.

So, what's the verdict, Wiz? You're saying Black Betty (I named one of my M.G.B.'s the same, coincidentally.) has unusual lateral markings for a Dumeril's? Can you show me a picture of a "normal" side pattern for comparison?
