My little troublemaker Mayhem is already calming down.
This is the first time he's let me hold him barehanded without striking once!
He was actually very laid back today, not sure why.

He was going up my sleeve right before this shot, I thought he was gonna bite my armpit! :p

That's cool Eli. The bandana definitely looks cool, but I might be biased towards them. ;^)

My JCP has his moments. Over the weekend I had him out and he was nervous, gripping overly tight etc. Last night he was a puppy dog. I let him hang out on top of the rack while I checked on all the other snakes. I did goof and grabbed something right in front of his face and he kind of half-way struck at me but it was with a closed mouth so no biggie. He liked it out and didn't want to go back in his tub. I need to get him his adult cage soon.

He's looking good Eli, just keep working with him and before you know it he'll be puppy dog tame for you.

Patients and gentle handling are starting to reward you.
You think you liked him before...now if this trend continues you get to see just how awesome carpets are to handle. Ours hiss a bit but never strike (thank god they are adults). Carpets are the coolest to handle. They never stop moving for more than a few seconds and love to reach out to nearby objects/people. Enjoy and good job taming that beast :)

Very nice. So glad hes taming down for you. You know first hand that what it takes to tame down any snake is frequent handling. Thats my experience with my Macklots and Mayhem is proving this as well.

This would not be possible except for fequent handling. These pics were taken last June, just a couple of months after I picked these guys up at the Omaha Reptile Show.

Eli, youre doing great.
