Hi All,
I am proud to announce the "Ottawa Alternative Pet Expo" hosted by Chris' Creepy Crawlies will be taking place in Ottawa on April 5, 2003 between 10am and 4pm.
The tentative venue is the Jim Durrell arena hall at 1265 Walkley Ave.
Vendor tables will be $50 for each 6ft table and admission at the door will be 4 dollars for adults and 2 dollars for kids 10 or under.
I look forward to seeing everyone there!
Email creepy-crawlies@rogers.com or call 613-829-8116 for info.
I am working on getting special hotel room rates for anyone in the show as well as a few other perks. Your help in spreading the word would be much appreciated folks.
Thanks!!
Chris

I think im getting picked on...so i got lost for three hours in a five block radius...whats your point!!! Josef..your not that safe..i can always buy a ticket to malta!!!!
3 streets Shane.. all you had to do was take three streets and you still managed to get lost.. Incredible man.. Anyway, Tony already said he would drive out and gladly bring us along.. You, me and Jeff for sure is what i heard.. So im game if the rest are..
Woohoo! Road trip!
Lets just plan this one ahead of time. Shane, you are not driving at all. Matt, you have shotgun! Jeff, just dont wear your basketball shirt I saw you in that pic with! LOL
Tony
oh good so Shane isn't Driving.. they will get there.. but Chris I think a map would still be good.. :)
hmm wonder if I can rent a car.. actually April driving isn't bad and it wouldn't be the 400 or 401.. it'll be Hwy 17 for us.. hmm.. I might just able about to go after all :)
lol Thank god Shane ain't Driving lol
Chris: Heres my though on this .. since it is the first show obviously attandence will be low and the amount of vendors as well .. I would suggest offering vendors the tables for free. This way, it would create a better turn out and would be better for next shows .. I know u make no money this way but it will build u up a clientel and enable u to have future shows where it will be profitalbe for you and the vendors..
just my opinion

I have to front a lot of money for this show to happen, (I am already into it for close to 1000 bucks) and come March I am very likely buying TV and radio advertising as well. Most shows charge 60-70 bucks for a table so thats why I chose 50.
I plan to have either Xfm or the Bear broadcast live from the show as a crowd draw too, as well as trying to get the news to do a story on it.
Its really a matter of the vendors seeing the fact that this is prime location for a show. On top of Ottawa being a city of nearly 1 millions... not far down the road are Montreal, Kingston, and the GTA.

Indeed, I think 50$ a table is quite a fair price! Hell, I'd get a table if I had anything to sell or present. I hope this becomes a regular event because it is so much closer than Toronto and much easier to get to...I hope the show goes well for you, Chris.
I'm definitely going to try to be there, unfortunately it's scheduled smack-dab in the middle of my final exams.
