Have you ever had one of these?

Oh man this is so good. Last Tuesday, we went to a restaraunt called Fat Tuesday's that is owned by New Orleans transplants, courtesy of Hurricane Katrina. We heard they were going to making this for Mardi Gras and we love Cajun food anyway so we couldnt pass this one up.

We are repeat customers there because their food is unmatched by anyone.

Actually my favorite there is fried gator, followed closely by fried catfish. The froglegs appetizer is worth noting as well. Then theres the ettouffee, gumbo and the jambalaya. I like them all and especially when theyre spicy as Cajuns know how to cook. :)

I actually had a Crayfish for a while as a pet. We had them in our lake by our house so we took one home and put it in a tank. He ended up getting out and we found him under my bed! He was still alive and we brought him back. Now they are almost all gone from our lake because they removed the rock that they hid under. They are probably still in there but I haven't seen one for like 2 years.

I just want to say thank you New Orleans for producing this style of food and while the Hurricane was not a pleasant experience for anyone, Im glad this family decided to move here and set up shop, bringing with them that New Orleans flavor. :)

OMG! I love crawfish! But only if it's done right! Places around here will throw them on a bar and call it crawfish but they taste like nasty water. *barf*

We have a few good places here that do 'em right. Hot 'n spicy is the only way to go! With some boiled potatoes and corn on the cob, washed down with ice cold beer! Mmmm... now I want some and they're almost in season again! :D

Nothing beats "Widow-No Survivor" In addition to habanero, it also has in its ingredients, capsaicin extract.

Yes I agree with you on that. Btw, the array of hot sauces they have at Fat Tuesday's are over the edge. The Ghost chili sauce was awesome but this Widow sauce... Wow! I thought "what is it that makes this sauce hotter than the Ghost chili sauce?" You know what it is? Its the capsaicin extract that kicks it up a few notches. For a chilihead like me, it only takes about 4-5 drops per meal to give me that umph that Im looking for. So far, the Widow sauce is unmatched.

yummy... I was looking for some really killer hot sauce and I found one that was basically nothing but capsaicin extract. Only 300 bottles or something like that and it was stupid expensive. But it was over 10 million schoville units. DO WANT.

yeah well the Widow sauce while only being 1,000,000 scoville units is only $5.95 on this site. Its worth checking out.

I'm gonna have to. I might drop it in my next batch of nachos as I continue to improve on them. But my test subjects (read: my roommates) might not appreciate that.

I saw Magma 4 on that site. Thats one I will be checking out. I forget the price but its 4 times hotter than Widow. Ill let you know. :)

I've only had Magnum 44, good stuff! I bought this one called Z, it boasted a 4million scoville and was practically franks compared to this real 4mil.... not something you taste test a whole spoon full with that's for sure............ But on kraft dinner, steak, spaghetti sauce, salsa, chilli(of course) pizza, and everything else I can get it on, it still goes quick.... I think I ended up putting the rest of the Z on my Kraft Dinner and still wasn't as bad as a couple drops of 44 on the spoon... That review page is awesome, I really don't like the taste of most Blaire's though... Might have to try a couple of the other ones though. Kelowna is really limited on local stock, but maybe I can find somewhere to order a few.... I was trying to get off my hot sauce kick, thanks guys...

I have tried Magma and the nice thing about that one is the controlled spout. No worries about blobbing on too much with that one. I wonder if Mamgma 4 is the same way.

I was trying to get off my hot sauce kick, thanks guys...

No problem ;)

I'm currently eating habby jacks like its going outta style... its a locally made habenero hot sauce with no heat really, just tonnes of flavour. You guys got me wanting heat again, thats expensive..... Perhaps I'll order some mad dogs' 357 this time... take it up a notch! Hows Magma 4 for flavour?

exwizard
02-26-12, 05:58 AM
Ive only tried Magma which does not alter the flavor. It only adds heat. Thats why I want to try Magma 4 because its 4 times hotter than even Widow. Im assuming also with no flavor alteration. We'll see when Im able to get it.
