View Full Version : divided snake cage
I as thinking of making stackable cages for venomous snakes and I am looking for Ideas. I would like to make the cages stackable with a front opening. I also want to be able to slide in a divider from the front. I have a cage like this that the divider slides in from the top but I can't stack them. I was just wondering if anybody has made a cage like this and maybe some pictures.
Thanks
I don't see how you'd be able to slide in a divider from the front, but you could possibly do so from the sides. That would let you stack them but it could be more complicated to make. Just an opinion and I'm way far from being an expert!

I have NO experience with venomoids what so ever, BUT i would think that if i was working with them, i would DEFINATLY want a top opening cage where the divider could be slid in through the top... Coming in from the front seems to be more dangerous i would think?!?

Actually, top opening cages are more dangerous and are usually not reccomended. When handling venomous the idea is to keep as much of your body parts away from the snake.
It is a lot easier to work from the front, with proper tools, of course.
Neodesha(when they were still around), used to make split dividers for their cages that on some models slide in from the front and other models from the top. It doesn't matter which way the divider slides in from, but dividers do make husbandry alot easier.

doesnt boaphile make caging with the dividers in them??? your in AZ so maybe send Jeff Rohnne a email and ask him what he has with dividers, im almost 100% sure they make them.
Jeff the front opening is easier to work with in my opinion. I have to cages that are front opening that have dividers but the divider has to be put in from the top so I can't stack any thing on top of them. They work put it would be nice to be able to save some space. I really don't won't to buy any cages I would rather build one. but I will check out boaphile page again I don't remember a divided cage but I might have missed it.
ReptileHQ I do like the divided cage for the husbandry. It makes it so much easier then moving them in and out all the time.
