.... but no takers. Freshest meal they'll ever see, but... I will leave them overnight and hopefully they'll get the munchies. (Unless the food is too large, possibly?)

That little rat doesn't look too big for that snake... should be fine. I'm assuming it's dead, so you can leave it overnight. But take it out asap in the morning... they start to decompose and smell really bad quick (yuck!)

Thanks Alessia! Your opinion is,very reassuring, as I was hoping the rats whereto at that 'tween stage, too big for everyone but Lucy.
Yes ma'am, I assure you, never a live item fed to any of my animals. I'm proud to say it only took a time or two's practice and I've got the "putting to sleep" tobjust exactly that. No gasping this time, afterthoughts, twitching, nothing. Nice and quick.

Oh, many times.. this is I think the largest I've tried to feed I think. That's why I thought maybe the size was the issue. (I'm gonna leave that joke alone. Haha)
Hand feeding a ball python: brave or stupid. Juries still out.

Not sure it's either, to be honest with you. They're "puppy dog tame," and this ain't my first rodeo! Lol Well, I guess it is, as far as BP's but I'm very comfortable hand feeding them. Someone ate last night, but there was on rat still in the tank. The chickens love leftover mice. Nothing goes to waste here.
